Sophie, Garage Sale Update, and Pictures...

First off I want to say thanks for all the wonderful e-mails and comments I've received about Brownie and Sophie.... Sophie passed away this afternoon as well. We are all doing good though! Phil and I encouraged the girls in the fact that we have Sophie's best thing.. her baby puppies!! We are going to let them keep 2 now.... are we softies or what? :-)

I finally found the time and energy to type out my update about the garage sale....

Below is what I sent out tonight...

Wow! I don't know how to start this e-mail except to say: "The one who calls you is FAITHFUL and HE will do it!" Phil and I laughed Saturday night and said... you know.. it's really sad that we are once again amazed at God's hand at work with this adoption... I mean seriously... How long does it take us to realize that God does indeed have all things under control... and HE will see this very thing come to pass!! Wow!!

We are very happy to report that God blessed us with over $2000.00 in donations. If you live in or around our area, you will understand the significance of this... This past weekend was MISERABLE... it was rainy and misty and absolutely NOT garage sale weather!! We just prayed and continued on with the sale... you know what? God performed miracles!

We are so thankful for the _______ AG who allowed us to have the sale at their church!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, and a special thanks to all our help throughout the week and weekend... (Josh, Adrienne, My Mom, Robin, Kim... the list goes on and on.) Just when I thought I was to tired to pull this off... someone else stepped up and helped me... Thanks does not seem like enough!!!

ACCEPTING DONATIONS NOW!!!
Due to the weather and the fact that we have so much stuff left... We are going to continue the sale this coming Saturday.... so if you are local and meant to get things together to donate... or if you have some things you want to get rid of.... I know a great place!!! We are more than happy to pick up items this week or meet you at the church to leave them there. Call me @ ____________ or e-mail to figure out a time.. etc..

It's really amazing when you walk into the fellowship hall and see all the items left... and know that we made over $2000.00 in profit... wow!!!

I know that all of you don't know this.. so I'll share.. but, back in Nov. 07.. just a couple of months after God spoke to our hearts and lives about adopting an orphan...
God spoke to my heart about the Nov. 07 sale.. and that we weren't supposed to price items... we just tell a little about our story to each person.. that God spoke to our hearts in Sept. 07 to reach out to an orphan.. and we're adopting internationally from Kaz.. et.c....
and that if they see anything they want or need.. PLEASE take it... and if they have the resources and can or would like to... donate any amount to our adoption fund.....
Some don't pay anything and take items... others take nothing and donate $5.00, $20.00.. or sometimes $100.00...
I have flyer's that we give EVERY person who walks in the door..

People donate items ALL weekend.... they come and shop and go home and come back and donate more or more items... saying they can feel the holy spirit and KNOW God is involved.... it's truly amazing!! God is so Good!!!

I am happy to report that on that garage sale back in 07... we were blessed with $8700.00... we had another one in May of 08 and made over $2500.00... and now this one..
It's amazing to see peoples faces when we tell them that NO donation is to small... and we're happy with .25! People are amazed... and it truly touches their hearts! You know you can't out give God... YOU can't!!! It's also very encouraging to see families who you know need items.. find things that they need for survival.. and you can bless them with those things!! It is truly what Christ would do...
Let me just remind you tonight that if God has spoken to your heart about something, step out in FAITH! God will be there every step of the way... He desires to see the very thing he called you to come to pass...so he will be there with you!
Phil and I are in such shock at the awesome ways God multiplies items that people don't want or need... and turns it around to help one of his precious children! Wow!! If you have donated items... or are donating... Please know that you have and are playing a vital role in this journey! When God called us to this... he also knew the awesome support we'd have and receive!!

Did you know that there are over 143 million orphans in the world??? If 7% of all professing Christians would DO SOMETHING... there would be NONE! Did you know that this week alone... 200,000 children will DIE of starvation (world wide)?? and 200,000 next week, and 200, 000 the next week... etc. etc. etc...

Thank you for doing something... and helping us reach our child(ren) in Kazakhstan! Our heart cries to do more...

Phil and I pray that you will be blessed beyond anything you have ever dreamed or imagined.. and that all of you would have the courage to step out in FAITH and do what God has called you to do!!! You will be amazed at what happens when you take that first step!!! :-)

Many blessings... and I can't wait to report the great success from the upcoming sale!!!

There is going to be pictures and an article in our local newspaper this week... so check that out if interested!!

Thanks for loving our family!!
All our Love and Prayers,
Lanetta (and family)

Here are some pictures from the sale (I forgot to take any pictures until on Sat... and we'd sold TONS of items... but, you can get the general idea.. when I took these pictures, we'd made over $1800.00:

Hi Lanetta,

So sorry about your dog, but I am so thankful you have her puppies, your children, and your husband. I'm thankful you share your life with us even when it is hard. I think that's how it is supposed to be. In the old days people shared their burdens and their lives more and people learned from each other and supported each other.
May God Bless your yard sale this weekend.
In His Love,
Janie
